Conditions of entry
1. Photos must be your own work. You must have taken them within the last 2 years, and they must be of the Porirua Harbour and the lower reaches of the streams that flow into it. See map.
2. Except for the artistic category, entries MUST BE actual images. You can crop your photos and make certain digital adjustments including conversion to black & white, but you must not create an image that wasn’t what you saw through your camera lens (e.g. you can’t ‘move’ objects). Do not submit text-generated AI images.
3. You are limited to 6 photos, and no more than two photos per category.
4. Every image must have a title. The title must not include the author’s name and be no longer than 35 characters. No title, logo or identification of the author shall be written anywhere on the face of an image.
5. The file name of the digital image should be identical to the title on the entry form and must not include the name of the photographer.
6. Files must be no more than 10MB in file size.
7. Images will need to be submitted in a 4:3 (or 3:4) aspect ratio, so they will not be cropped in printing.
8. If your photos are selected for the exhibition, you must send us a print resolution digital file of your winning photo(s) within 48 hours of being notified.
9. Copyright remains with you. The organising groups and the Porirua City Council Harbour programme may use any of the photos for not-for-profit educational and publicity purposes. If we do this, we will always acknowledge you as the photographer.
